Luana joined Collaborative Insight Counseling Associates (CICA) as a Practice Assistant in September 2025.

Luana studied Psychology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she was also part of the Commonwealth Honors College. During her undergraduate years, she had the opportunity to study abroad, which allowed her to explore how psychology and mental health are understood in different cultural contexts.

Her passion for mental health stems not only from her studies but also from her personal journey with therapy at different times in her life. As someone who immigrated from Brazil to the United States, Luana brings a broad cultural perspective that helps her connect with people from many walks of life. She hopes to make each client’s first step at CICA welcoming and reassuring, reflecting her belief that mental health care should be both accessible and compassionate.

Fun Facts: Luana has a deep love for fashion as a form of expression and enjoys creating content. She is also a wine enthusiast, with plans to pursue her introductory sommelier course in 2026. A passionate traveler, she is currently learning her fourth language. In her free time, Luana enjoys going to church, watching true crime, following Formula 1, and cheering on her favorite tennis players.
