Gureen Singh is the Founder and Executive Director of Collaborative Insight Counseling Associates (CICA).
She incorporated the group practice in October 2018 with the goal of offering high-quality, culturally sensitive psychotherapy services to the ever-growing diverse population of the Metro Boston area. She sought to create a practice wherein women of color were not only employed, but were also actively shaping the landscape of bar-setting mental health care delivery to clients of diverse backgrounds, cultures and identities.
As an independently-licensed practicing clinician at her own thriving solo practice, Singh Psychotherapy, along with her extensive experience as an administrator managing multi-site community mental health centers, Gureen’s unique perspective blends her clinical skills and her administrative intuition. Her clinical experience spans serving communities with diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, navigating conflicting societal norms/pressures, and processing and healing from trauma histories of varying severity. Gureen also recently completed IFS (Internal Family Systems) Level 1 training.
A native of New Delhi, India, Gureen immigrated to the United States as a teenager and attended Stony Brook University where she earned her BS in Psychology. She later went on to earn her MA in Counseling Psychology from William James College (formerly the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology) in Newton, MA.
Gureen is an avid fan of both Punjabi and Indian Classical music, and is actively on a mission to eat her way through the country. This mission has been temporarily placed on hold due to COVID-19, but she is eagerly looking forward to getting back into it!
